Welcome back to Little Oaks. We have really missed you all. It was wonderful to welcome some of you back this week. Although the classroom looks very different we have still been very busy with our learning. The Children have enjoyed number and shapes hunts outside, Animal Movements on the field, building and sweeping in the garden and some phonics.

Hello everyone! We continue to keep in contact via phone calls. We are trying to talk with families regularly. If we haven't yet spoke with you or your child, please keep an eye out for a call made from a private number. We are really missing the children and the posts on tapestry are absolutely fantastic to see. A massive well done to both our Little Oaks and their Mummy and Daddy's who are doing their very best to stay safe, busy and learning despite all the changes. You are doing amazing and we are so incredibly proud of every single family! You are rocking it! Tomorrow is VE day- a day we anticipated to celebrate as a wider community. We would love to see any photos of VE celebrations if you have found an alternative way to do this. Maybe the children could make decorations such as bunting and flags to decorate your homes, a picnic lunch in the garden, listen to old music and dance together?! Today i attach some more ideas for activities to keep your little ones busy. We understand printing may be an issue so you can always copy or encourage your children to make their own checklists. Keep doing all you are doing and most of all keep staying safe! WE MISS YOU! Little Oaks Team x
Hello Little Oaks Families, We hope you have had a truly wonderful Easter! On 16th April, 23 of our Little Oaks children received their school places and all families seem satisified by the response- this can be a truly anxious time for parents and we are pleased that you are all happy with your children's school places. We will continue to support you and your children through this transition. It has been fantastic to make contact with you all since we closed and we look forward to staying in touch with you all over the next week or so... We will be calling on a private number so keep an eye out for us! Tapestry has become a fantastic place to share pictures and comments of your children's time at home. We love seeing these, so please keep them coming! Today we have attached some more activities and challenges to keep little minds busy and learning. We hope you can enjoy these activities together. We hope this message finds you well..... Take care and keep safe. Best wishes, Little Oaks Team :)
Below we have provided some home-learning activities to support your child's learning and development within the home. The following website provides a list of free online educational resources: https://www.popsugar.co.uk/parenting/free-online-educational-resources-for-kids-47312329 Below are some documents that can support learning at home and helping children prepare for school:
This week the children enjoyed looking at a finger painting artist named Iris Scott. The children explored paint and recreated a piece called 'Dahlias'. Little Oaks have also enjoyed clearing the community allotment ready for re-planting. They have also been busy practising their balancing and negotiating space skills on the balance bikes.
This Week the children have enjoyed World Book Day. We all dressed up as our favourite book characters and shared stories together. Little Oaks have drawn pictures of their costumes and we have made a special World Book Day book together.
The children have enjoyed baking with Mrs Etheridge this week. The children have enjoyed talking about quantity and shape and following a recipe to make biscuits.
This week is children's mental health week. We have taken time to think and talk about our feelings and emotions and have also practised skills that help give us time to think about our mind and body.
Thank you to all families who joined us at this term's stay and play session. It is always a fantastic experience to welcome in families to see what they children do at Little Oaks.
The children have been learning about people who can help us in the wider community. The children have joined in discussions and made their favourite 'person who can help me'.
