Little Oaks had some very cute and fluffy visitors on Friday. The children had the opportunity to pet the lambs and ask the farmer any questions they had about how the lambs were cared for.

The children have been exploring 2d shape and 3d shape. They have been using shape to build with, have discussed shapes different properties and have enjoyed searching for shapes around the setting.
Little Oaks have enjoyed making bird feeders by threading cheerios onto coloured pipe cleaners. The Children then took them outside and hung them on the trees and fences for the birds to eat.
As Part of our Hairy Maclary topic we have been thinking about different pets. The children chose their favourite pet and made their own sock puppet.
Little Oaks enjoyed playing a sorting game in the school hall. The Children were given a healthy or non healthy food card and had to find the correct corner of the hall to put it in. We talked about which foods were fruits, vegetables and treats.
The Children have enjoyed making a fish bowl using a paper plate and layering different materials to build a picture and add their fish on top.
Little Oaks have had a wonderful world book day. The Children have enjoyed wearing their favourite costumes and sharing their favourite books with us today. The Little Oaks teaching staff wore their pyjamas to school today and we talked together about sharing a story at bedtime with a grown up at home.
The children enjoyed learning about Pancake Day and how to make a pancake. They also enjoyed exploring a variety of healthy toppings.
This week in Woodland Workshop we have been looking and talking about the first signs of Spring. We looked at the Daffodils that have started to flower and found some buds on some of the trees beginning to form. The Children also found lots of Blossom on the Blossom tree which was very exciting. Little Oaks continued to explore our mud kitchen, build dens and enjoyed doing some digging.
