Little Oaks have created their own Dinosaur World in our tuff spot. We have used soil, moss, water, leaves, twigs and blocks. The children have enjoyed building dens for the dinosaurs to live in and have used their imagination to explore what a dinosaur world may have looked like long ago.

Welcome to our new topic this half term , which is Dinosaur Roar.
This week the children have enjoyed excavating dinosaurs from blocks of ice. We have been using small hammers to chip away at the ice to help the dinosaurs to escape. To complete our topic on Bears this half term, Little Oaks have enjoyed a Teddy Bear's Picnic during snack time this week.
Little Oaks have enjoyed going into school to do some P.E skills in the hall this week. We have been working on balancing on the benches, travelling under and over equipment, throwing beanbags into hoops and catching a large ball.
The children have enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year. We have been very busy creating our own Chinese Dragons, dressing up in Chinese outfits, using chopsticks with noodles and cutting them with the scissors and making Chinese symbols with the play dough. The children have also enjoyed listening to the story of 'The Great Race' which tells us how each animal was given a numbered year in the Chinese calendar.
Little Oaks have been experimenting in the water tray using different sized containers, jugs, and sieves. We have added bubbles and some of the small world animals to the water this week.
As part of our 'We're going on a Bear Hunt' topic this half term, the children have enjoyed collecting leaves, twigs and other natural materials create their own bear hunt scenes and pictures. The children also used the leaves, twigs and wooden blocks to build their own caves and dens.
The children have enjoyed exploring our Woodland Workshop area. We have been enjoying a range of activities, such as painting stones, cooking popcorn by the fire and using pots and pans in the mud kitchen.
