This morning we had a visit from the Owl Man. We joined Oak Tree Class in the school hall to learn all about Owls. The Children had the opportunity to meet Cracker Jack the Little Owl, Plop the Barn Owl and Nigel the Sparrow Hawk. We learnt lots of new facts about Owls e.g. what they like to eat and how they hear. Little Oaks thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

On Tuesday we learnt all about Chinese New Year. The Children enjoyed creating their own Chinese Lanterns and Dragons. We talked about the importance of red and gold meaning luck and wealth during Chinese New Year. The children tasted some different types of Chinese food and enjoyed Dragon Dancing in the afternoon. We also learnt how to say Happy New Year in Chinese. Kung Hey Fat Choy!!
We have been focusing on understanding positional language at Little Oaks. The children have been playing a game called 'Find Monty'. The children need to listen to instructions of where to place objects on the board. We used words like- next to, on top, behind, underneath.
The children enjoyed working together to build a Bear Cave. Little Oaks used their dens to recreate 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'.
